Scotland manager Craig Levein says Craig Bryson deserves his call-up to the national side ahead of their friendly clash with the United States this weekend.

Bryson moved south from Kilmarnock last summer and quickly established himself in the Derby midfield starting 46 of The Rams` 49 games and gaining a number of player of the year awards in a successful first season. Ahead of the clash at EverBank Field in Jacksonville on Saturday night Levein told the press:

‘He has been excellent this season and he has scooped all of the player of the year awards at Derby County. We have been watching him for a long time. There was one squad previously that we tried to get him included in but through certain circumstances, that was not possible. He deserves the opportunity. He has progressed through his career very nicely indeed down south and he is doing well.”
