Derby County have accepted a bid from Cardiff City for John Brayford with the player looking likely to complete the deal on Friday.

The Rams turned down a bid of around £1m from Wigan Athletic earlier in the transfer window and with the club looking to sit down and agree a new contract with the rightback the Premier League new boys have acted to sign the player. The fee is believed to be in the region of £2m although no official confirmation has been forthcoming with the club opting to leave the monetary aspect as ‘undisclosed`. A club statement on the official website read:

“Derby County Football Club has today accepted a bid from Premier League Cardiff City for defender John Brayford. After holding discussions with the player, who is entering the final year of his contract, the offer has been accepted after he expressed a strong desire to make the move and test himself at the highest level of English football. The fee is to remain undisclosed and the player has been given permission to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.”
