Bolder moves to Loftus Road

Adam Bolder has become the first player to leave the Rams in the transfer window after signing for fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers, for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old played 164 games for the Rams scoring on 11 occasions, and spoke to the London club late in the week after their offer was accepted by Derby. Bolder will go straight into the Rangers side for the trip to Oakwell on Tuesday night.

Bolder began his career in Hull City, and signed for the Rams, in March 2000 and made his debut against Manchester United in May 2001. He scored his first goals for Derby in August 2002 against Grimsby Town, a game the Rams won 2-1 and Bolder scored both goals for Derby.

Rangers boss, former Rams manager, John Gregory is delighted to sign Bolder, and the midfielder has signed a two and half year contract and will wear the number 7 shirt vacated by Matthew Rose, who has been released from his contract. Gregory said: “I’m absolutely delighted. It’s been a bit of a struggle because of interest from a host of other clubs, but we’ve got him on board and I’m ecstatic.”

Gregory added: “He’s the ultimate professional. He’s consistent, passionate and has fantastic ability.
‘He’ll have a massive influence here and I’m delighted he’s chosen us. It’s a significant coup for this Football Club.”
