Derby County today announced that details of next year’s season ticket prices have been delayed. The delay is apparently due to the uncertain future of ownership of the Rams.

Communications director Paul Clouting said

“We recognise from a supporters’ point of view that this is an unsettling period for the club at the moment,” he said.

“We feel it would be unwise, maybe even unfair, to be asking season ticket holders to commit or re-commit to the club before the future of the club is resolved.”

“What the club will try to do, as usual, is to reward season ticket holders and give them the opportunity to book their seats first,” he said.

“We’ll try to do that as quickly as we can and are mindful of the fact that there will come a time when we have to announce.”

The current board has come in for criticism in recent weeks since Rams Chief Executive Jeremy Keith announced that he was in discussions with private hedge fund SISU to refinance the club. There is also another consortium of 5 Derbyshire businessmen, led by former director Peter Gadsby, who are looking to take over the mantle of running Derby County.
