Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has made it clear to us that he’s not interested in negotiating a deal with us for Shaun Barker after rejecting another approach.

“It is true that we have turned down a bid for Shaun. We are just not interested in talking to them at all.

“We have told them that what they have offered is not acceptable, and we don’t want to swap any players.

“Particularly now we have a new manager it is vitally important that we keep our better players together and players that are fundamental to where we have got and keeping us in here.”

Oyston was talking to the Blackpool Gazette.

Barker isn’t certain to stay with Blackpool but Oyston remains hopeful that he will. Offers of £400,000 and a swap deal involving Liam Dickinson, who spent a spell on loan with Blackpool this season, are both said to have been rejected so I’d think its best that we moved onto other targets now.
