The Rams season to date has been one of great delight to all Rams fans across the world. The Rams sat six points clear a few weeks ago and things looked rosy at Pride Park, but the media has decided to bring in the – Tall poppy syndrome – with the Rams and media reports have un-railed the Rams juggernaut and their lead at the top of the Championship has demised.
One of the reports in the Daily Mirror has suggested that there is a rift between Rams Coach Billy Davies and managing director Mike Horton. But Davies has dismissed the report. The newspaper said the future of Davies as manager of the rams was in doubt and he could quit in the summer because he is at ‘loggerheads’ with Horton.
But Davies has rubbished the story, saying it was typical of the mischief-making that can surround a club at the top of the table.
‘I’m very comfortable about my relationship with the board of directors,’ said the Rams boss.
He added: ‘I want to kill this story now and concentrate on nothing more than the important business of preparing my team for the game at Sunderland tomorrow and focusing on the next 13 League matches.’
The same newspaper, again using a ‘Derby insider’ as its source, recently alleged there was unrest at the club over players’ promotion bonuses.
The story in the Mirror quoted a ‘Derby insider’ that Davies’ future as manager was in doubt because he is at ‘loggerheads’ with the board.
Davies has said all along that the Rams position is something of a surprise and I`ll agree with that, but when at the top these problems usually happen. With the Rams not winning in their last three games the ammunition is there for the press, the best way to end the rumours is a good win today at Sunderland. Come on you Rams !!!!!
