Giles Barnes looks like he’ll be returning to Derby this summer, but for how long this will be isn’t known as Adam Pearson has said he could still move on to another Premier League side.

“It doesn’t appear that a deal for Giles with Fulham will get concluded but he has expressed a desire to play Premier League football, so we will have to see what happens.”

Pearson was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

The 20-year-old has been on loan with Fulham since January but hasn’t made a first-team appearance and surgery on an Achilles injury means he’ll miss out on the chance on Sunday and they don’t look like they’ll be taking up the option to sign him.

Barnes’ return will please many, but with Premier League football something that he wants there’s still a good chance he’ll get this, but for this he’ll need someone to come in for him, but will they?
