Steve McClaren admits it was a bad day at the office for his Derby County side despite holding on to top spot as they lost 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday.

Goals from Mirco Antenucci either side of halftime handed Leeds United the points but it was also the manner of the performance that worried McClaren as his time could not cope with their pace and power in the match. After a bright start Leeds slowly took control and ran out deserved victors with McClaren telling the Derby Evening Telegraph:

‘They knew they had to get about us, they frustrated us and we lost our heads a bit. You can’t do that. We joined in and stopped playing football. Credit to Leeds if that was the game plan. We were below our best and when you’re not at your best, you can be beaten.”
