Ross Atkins has re-joined Burton Albion on a season long loan after he agreed a deal with the club he spent all of last season on loan with making a total of 48 appearances for.

The young goalkeeper has won caps at Under-18 an Under-19 level for England and has previously spent loan spells at Kidderminster and Tamworth before joining The Brewers on loan last season. Derby extended his contract until the end of this season during the summer before he agreed the deal that will see him compete with Dean Lyness for the starting position. Talking to the official Burton Albion website about the move Atkins said:

“I`m really looking forward to the new season. I had no hesitations to come back here. Gary spoke to me at the end of last season and Derby spoke to me over the summer to see if that was what I wanted to do and I said yes straight away.”
